Report
from Mike Jolley:
"Well opening day went really well with 18 Teal being taken. Sunday was slow
with a take of only one Teal. I did see some big ducks working the smaller areas
of water. The vegetation is so thick that the ducks could be 10 yards in front
of you and you would never know they were there.
The first couple of months of duck season will be great with the
vegetation being so tall and thick the ducks have lots of places
to hide. The weather looks warm for the rest of the week so we will
turn on the wells until we get rain. Next weekend looks to be another
great hunting weekend.
The beavers around here are some of the best dam builders around.
We are having a problem with them tearing up one of the levees, in
a couple of spots they have almost gone thru one half of the levee.
We are trying to get them to move to other spots."
The Teal season forecast looks very promising. Teal are showing up
on area lakes and ponds with all the summer rains the habitat conditions
are perfect.
Make sure and visit our "2007-2008
Waterfowl Harvest Board" for an updated count as we go through
waterfowl hunting season. If you haven't seen our "Duck
Man" video yet... you really should take a few minutes there.
The video footage was shot at Pintail Farms last year and the music
is great. |
