Teal Season Ends on a High Note!
|
Hunting was great this
weekend. Teal were everywhere.
The cold fronts continue to push into Texas early. Even as far South
as Houston, temperatures in the 50s are being recorded. We had about
10 hunters out for the last weekend of teal season and everyone had
a great hunt. Pintails, Mallards, Teal and Wigeon are coming in with
each new cold front, they seem to be running about a month early.
We had 2 more inches of rain and birds were everywhere. The opening
of duck season
on
November
4th should
be the best in a long time. |
| Preparation
For Duck Season - The Lull Between Teal & Duck Seasons |
| Currently
new blinds are being installed in anticipation of our best Duck Hunting
yet.
We have worked extensively to improve and mold Pintail Farms into
the premier North Texas Waterfowl Hunting Club. Over the last couple
of years we have built a very large
and comfortable clubhouse and added
new lakes and water flood management systems. We now have over 30
lakes covering nearly 400 acres (8-60acres each). With this year's
cold fronts and rains
(over 10 inches this month) we are seeing more birds than ever before.
We also lease and have access to nearby farms and are in negotiations
for more. |

| Below you
will find some of the pictures of improvements we have made over
the last couple
of years. These efforts have really
paid off, hunting just keeps getting better at Pintail Farms. Click

| Next week we are looking forward to
reporting on the further preparations for Duck Season and we will
be reviewing game camera pictures from this week and last. After September
4th, we'll be bringing you weekly Field Reports on this year's duck
season. |
