Dove Hunting Season Opens In North Texas
|
 |
Dove season started
off with a bang, lots of dove flying but the cold front that came
through on Thursday pushed a bunch of birds south.
We had 10 inches of rain so the lakes are in great shape,
and there are still lots of dove around but spotty, and each cold
front is pushing them south. We should have some good dove hunts
this year, just have to be there at the right time. The long range
forecast predicts
the second and third weekends this month to be mostly
sunny and around the low 90s for highs...perfect hunting weather!
Dove hunting season
in the Texas North Region runs from September 1st through October
30th, 2006. Reference

| With the cold front
we picked up a large number of Blue Wing Teal Friday, seeing 400
to 500 on the lakes, which should make Saturday an opening day to
remember. |
