| Youth Hunt |
This weekend
was special for 8 youth hunters, per Mike Jolley; "If any one
of these boys weren't addicted to duck hunting, they are now!".
We also had a couple of female youth hunters that love to hunt.
There were so many ducks flying in, it was hard for the youth hunters
to concentrate on which duck to shoot. Saturday, there were thousands
of teals buzzing the blinds, making a great opener. Sunday was a
bit slower but the youth hunters had a great time spending many boxes
of shells. The opener for regular gun season should be just as good.
Pintail Farms is expecting a special waterfowl hunting season this
year.
We brought back game cam shots with this update. Fences were put
up this year to discourage wild hog at the deer
feeders.

Migratory Bird Hunting Report (North
Texas Region) |
TWPD
is reporting; "The
recent front deposited gadwalls, shovelers, teal, wigeons and a few
mallards on area lakes and reservoirs. Since the region is
quite dry, expect more ducks on lakes and reservoirs until winter
rains fill sloughs, bayous and shallow river beds. The region was
in good shape water-wise after summer rains, but only a few drops
have fallen since and many shallow ponds are drying. "
This is what TWPD is reporting currently, but with our wells running
during the dry weeks, along with the abundance of millet and smartweed,
we are seeing migratory waterfowl stream into the North Texas Region
as
far
as you
can see

Gun Season Weekend Outlook for Pintail Farms: |
Friday, November 2nd a high of 72 and low of 50 with a 10% chance
of rain.
Saturday, November 3rd, a high of 69 and low of 38 with a 20% chance
of rain.
Sunday, November 4th, a high of 68 and low of 49 with a 10% chance
of rain.
