Weekend Report
The weather was warmer than we would have liked, and not as many birds were seen as in the past, but the hunters Saturday had a great time. The waterfowl were coming right into the decoys. The pintails were showing up and the hunters started shooting Read Heads, which hadn't been seen until Saturday due to the unusually warm weather. Hunters that stayed in the blinds long enough were able to get their limit.

The pictures below are of buck taken in 2000 at Pintail Farms. This buck scored 163 B/C points. Farms. Below in the Game cam shots you can see another nice buck that is being watched at Pintail Farms.

B/C stands for the Boone and Crockett scoring system. For those deer hunters out there now you can learn how to score your take and enter the results by going to the following links for the online scoring calculators.

Weekly Migratory Bird Hunting Report from Texas Parks and Wildlife (North Texas Region)
"Opening weekend of duck season was fair to good. Lakes and reservoirs were the hot spots for Northeast Texas duck hunters. On the north end of Lake O'the Pines divers and teal were abundant, with gadwalls showing later in the morning. Lake Fork, Toledo Bend and Caddo Lake was fair to good for divers, teal and gadwalls. Wright-Patman was fair for gadwalls in secluded areas. Lake Palestine was solid for limits of greenwings and bluewings. Backwater sloughs and bayous were good for wood ducks and teal. Very few mallards were seen, but locals are saying there are more wood ducks than they have seen in years."
