Report - November 2 - November 8,, 2007 |

Friday
night was spent watching the teal come into the fields, though
not a lot were big ducks, Saturday was a different story. The lakes
were holding enormous of amounts of birds overnight. One of the
members and Mike Jolley headed to a blind and Mike reports that "there
were so many teal in the water that one could reach down from the
four wheeler and catch them with your hand. We sat there until shooting
time and had birds and big ducks all over us". The weather was a
little warm but a great day was had by all.
Sunday was slower but 13 teal were still taken.
The ponds at Pintail Farms have been kept full using the wells during
the past dry months. Mike Jolley is expecting an influx of waterfowl
with the approaching cold
front to make for a great upcoming weekend.

Migratory Bird Hunting Report from Texas Parks and Wildlife (North

Duck
season opened 30 minutes before sunrise on November 3, 2007. The lakes
and reservoirs are beginning to dry from lack of rain for the past
two months. Back water sloughs and river bottoms are drying. Lots
of acorns are on the ground and those covered with water are holding
lots of wood ducks. Not many mallards are being reported on the lakes.

of rain.
Saturday, November 10th, , a high of 78 °F and low of 58 °F with a 30%
chance of rain.
Sunday, November 11th, a high of 76 °F and low of 59 °F with a 30% chance
of rain.
