| Weekend Report |
Well the
2007 and 2008 Duck Season is now officially over. I can honestly
say that the season went by to fast, as it seems everything does
these days. The last week of the season had days with limits and
days where the skies were empty. But boy when it was good, it was
really good. It seems as though it took rain, sleet or fog to get
the birds moving around. The days of rain and sleet brought some
great hunts. We mostly shot Teal and Pintails; however, the last
morning hunt of the season Mark and Bryce managed 2 limits of birds,
a mixed bag with Mallards, Pintails and Teal. Good Job guys!!!! You
two earn the award for staying after it!!!!
I would have to say it was a great season. All the members of
Pintail farms experienced some great hunts this year. We also had
some slow hunts as well. But boy those great hunts we experienced
seemed to keep us coming back for more.
As we look back on the season I hope everyone has some great memories.
That is what it is all about. I enjoyed meeting and hunting with
everyone. Special events this year, such as the children's
hunt, (what wonderful time they had!) and the Veteran's Hunt,
were very memorable and a great source of enjoyment.
We shot almost 1000 birds this year. That is pretty impressive
with only having 10 members. We shot almost as many Mallards and
Teal this year as we did last year with 15 less members. Good job
guys!!!! I hope everyone enjoyed all the improvements we made
this year with the blinds. I know I did. I did not come home with
a big ring on my bottom side from sitting on buckets this year.
Pepe, Mike Jolley, Mike South and I would like thank everyone
who hunted with us this year. We have enjoyed the friendship and
the hunting memories. We are all looking forward to next year.
P. S. I am working on a members and family Upland Hunt for the
weekend of February 23rd. I hope to see everyone there.

Make sure
and visit our "2007-2008
Waterfowl Harvest Board" for an updated count as we go through
waterfowl hunting season. We will be updating the Field
Reports on a weekly basis, and Photo
Gallery on a monthly basis. If you haven't seen our "Duck
Man" video yet... you really should take a few minutes there.
The video footage was shot at Pintail Farms last year and the music
is great. Be sure to read the Lone
Star Outdoor News article.
