The 2006 – 2007 North Texas Waterfowl Season Winds Down at Pintail Farms

North Texas Hunting Update; January 26 -28, 2007

"We would like to wind down this season by first thanking all our members and many visitors for an incredible year at Pintail Farms.

This was an incredible year at Pintail Farms with all the dirt work being completed, planting at just the right time and Mother Nature's help, it couldn't have been much better. We are very pleased with our second year of operations. Many of our members saw more ducks this year then they had ever seen anywhere in their life before.

There is always room for improvement though. We are already putting into motion our plans for next season. We will be planting sunflowers for dove and are hoping to plant some of the "Magic Millet" from Arkansas. We expect the planting we did last year to come back this Fall even bigger and better. The NRCS (National Resources Conservation Service) is preparing to plant 20,000 trees. We are constantly making improvements at Pintail Farms. This Spring we will be moving many of the blinds due to the increase we realized in water acreage this last year. We will also be adding 6 more blinds to our lakes.

Next year is already looking great. We have a waiting list of new members wanting to join but existing members have first choice to come back and I believe they all will. We came close to the 1500 mark in duck and geese harvest last year and believe we will probably be looking at 2500 during this next season.

I hope everyone has a great Summer and stays safe. Make sure and take your kids fishing and hunting, they are the future."

Thank you all for a great year,

Pintail Farms
