Report - December 29, 2006 - January 4, 2007, Winter Duck Season
- Holiday Hunting |
We had some
great holiday hunting despite the warmer weather. Those that hung
out for a while took their duck limit. The kids had a good time,
some where on their first hunt.
The sky opened up Friday afternoon around 3:00 pm. Both ducks
and rain were coming in hard. After 8-10 inches of rain and more
water standing than before, Saturday Morning was a little more
spread out.
Sunday morning the wind changed out of the West and we were "back
on" as you can tell from the pictures below. Between Ryan
blowing his duck call, Moe stuffing his ears with feather plugs
and Jackie's 10 month old Lab retrieving ducks all morning....what
else is there?
Counting down the last 2 weeks of the season, we're looking
at the best water yet and the extended forecast is great. If the
weather gurus are right, we are expecting 30s and 40s at night
and daytime highs mainly in the 50s.
At any time you are able to browse down in our local weather link
on the right hand side of any page and select the "10 day
extended forecast" to review the weather predictions at Pintail
Farms.
We are expecting to have a fantastic season closeout here with
some great hunting. There's still room for a few more. Prospects
through the end of the season are looking very good from our blinds.
We have added some new pages to our Hunting
Photo Gallery and
updated our Waterfowl Harvest
Board, so make sure and visit both.
We at Pintail Farms wish all of our visitors, members and
associates a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. |
